Paternity

The Best Security Blanket a Child can have, is Parents who Respect Each Other

Paternity means “Fatherhood”

Mediation may be an option for parents wishing to create a parenting plan that addresses parent-time, custody, support, and other child related issues. Parties MUST file any agreement reached in mediation in the form of a court stipulation for the agreements to become court enforceable.

If you are in a situation where you need to establish paternity, the process doesn’t need to be difficult—and we can help!

Establishing Paternity

  • If the father is already listed on the child’s birth certificate, paternity is established and you’re ready to work on an agreement regarding custody and child support.
  • The easiest and most common way of establishing paternity is for Mom and Dad to sign a Voluntary Declaration of Paternity.  Once signed, you’re ready to create a parenting plan that includes decisions about parent time and child support.

Co-Parenting and Parenting Plan

  • The key to successful co-parenting is having a great parenting plan in place and sticking to it.
  • Child support is established for the child(ren) based upon the Income Tables for Child Support Establishment.
  • Parent Time issues can be established.
  • Custody is established
